Under the guidance of Village Employment Councils of all the 40 Villages under Bilkhawthlir RD Block, Women Workers came out in celebration of Iconic Work of International Women's Day by observing Cleanliness Drives. Ponds, Lakes and traditional Water bodies are cleaned and restored by them. Moreover, Women's Workers of some Villages also picked up and cleaned  garbage laying in the bank of the nearby streams and rivers. Banners depicting the celebration laying in the bank of the nearby streams and rivers. Banners depicting the celebration of Iconic work of International Women's Day were displayed at the Work sites.  Women of different Villages came out with spade, shovel, dao etc for cleaning Lakes, Pond, traditional water bodies and nearby streams. They also clear approach roads to traditional water bodies and clean canals within Villages. This cleanliness drives were supervised by members of villages Employment Councils. In most Villages, some male members of Young Mizo Association (YMA) and Mizoram Upa Pawl (MUP) also turned out in this drive.

 Observation of this Iconic Week of International Women's Day brought about civics consciousness among Women Workers of Mahatma Gandhi NREGS under Bilkhawthlir RD Block. This cleanliness drive is also expected to bear fruit in the minds of Villagers the importance of Cleanliness and preserving source of drinking water for better livelihood.
